Trace it.
Use a softer, lighter pencil, like Stila Kajal Eye
Liner in Topaz, to sketch out what your wings will look like. The line
should be thin at the inner corner of your eyes and get thicker as you
move along, with a slight flick up just past the outer corner of your
eye. Tip: Follow the natural shape of your eye, as this will make your
peepers appear larger and brighter.
Take a time-out.
Step
away from the mirror for a few minutes, then re-inspect your outline,
double-checking that it’s symmetrical. If it’s not, use a pointed Q-Tip
to erase and adjust. Still having trouble getting the wings just right?
Hold a business card at a 45° angle and use it as a guide.
Fill it in.
Look
for a liquid liner in a solid black that has a very thin brush and fine
point, like Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Carbon
Black. Using a hands-free, lighted mirror, like Danielle Creations
Foldaway Lighted Mirror 2 Tone, place your elbow on the counter to
steady your hand and pull the lid taut, keeping your eye relaxed and
slightly open. Run the liner across your lid, getting as close to your
lash line as possible, and let it dry for at least 10 seconds before
blinking.
Banish dark circles.
Pat and press Bobbi
Brown Creamy Concealer on the under-eye area to just below the lash line
(eyeliner will cling better to bare, clean skin). Next, lightly line
the bottom of your eyes from the outer corner to just below your pupil,
smudging for more drama.
Lash it up.
No celeb is
officially red-carpet ready without standout lashes. Apply two coats of
Benefit They’re Real! Mascara to the top and bottom lashes. It
volumizes, curls and lengthens for Angelina-style flappers that will
complement your modern take on the traditional cat-eye.
